A Bella Glow Tan will last anywhere from nine to fourteen days, on average. The amount of physical activity, aftercare, hydration (both internal and external) and proper personal preparation for the spray tan are all factors of how many days one can expect their spray tan to last.

We strongly recommend that you shower, shave and exfoliate the day prior to your tanning appointment. Oil based soaps should be avoided as well as any lotions after you shower. Exfoliating is very important because it allows the DHA to adhere to your skin better and will help your tan last longer. It is also important to schedule manicures/pedicures and waxing appointments prior to your tanning session (for best tanning results, 2 or more days prior). On the day of your scheduled spray tan, simply rinse off with water in the shower at your designated rinse time.

Yes! We customize all of our solutions for all of our clients! We take several factors into consideration – your skin type, hair color, eye color, and most importantly the end result that you desire. With the Luxe solution, we customize the color tone and you have the opportunity to customize its intensity with your post session shower time. 1 hour for a light glow, 2-3 hours for a medium tan and 4 hours for a dark tan. The bronzer layer will wash off with your first post tan shower. We have cool and warm undertone formulas.

The Luxe Spray Tan is designed for people on the go. People that can’t have a spray tan solution on their skin for eight hours. Luxe spray tans are designed to rinse off in one to four hours, however, it still will take eight to twelve hours to fully develop. Your luxe spray tan will last eight to fourteen days. You can not get wet or sweat for one to four hours after being sprayed. When it is time to rinse, use water only. It is highly recommended that you don’t use sunscreen, lotion or makeup for eight hours after you rinse. Using any of these products will interfere with the spray tan developing process. Rinse off time is not optional. If you rinse earlier than advised, your tan will be lighter. If you leave the solution on longer than advised, your tan may look too dark. Your tan may look very light after you shower, but it will evolve within  the next eight to ten hours. On some occasions, it can take up to 24 hours to fully develop your tan. Once you rinse off, it's OK to exercise and sweat, but don’t go swimming in the ocean or pool until the next day.

It is best to wear dark, loose fitting clothing and slippahs (flip-flops) after your spray tan. The temporary bronzer in spray tanning solutions can rub off on clothing and/or sheets. It is advised to wear long sleeves and pants, as this will prevent your skin from rubbing. Skin on skin contact prior to the tan developing, can cause the tan to not take as well in those areas.

Ladies are welcome to wear as little or as much as they are comfortable with. We have disposable thongs, bandeaus and shower caps available for your convenience. Gentlemen are required to wear underwear or swimwear. We have men’s disposable briefs available too.

You will see an immediate glow from the temporary bronzer in the solution. The spray tanning solution takes eight to twelve hours to develop, unless you are using a luxe solution. Do not sweat or shower until your rinse off time, which is usually the next day. Luxe spray tans are different, and you will be given the proper rinse off time.

No. Bella Glow Spray Tan solutions do not cause freckles.

A person can get tan with Bella Glow Spray Tans! And we will customize the color just for you!!! Typically, if you are unable to naturally tan in the sun it's due to challenges with a person’s own melanocyte production. With a Bella Glow Spray tan your skin will be bronze and glowing.

The spray tan appointment takes 30 minutes, so it is important to be punctual. It takes approximately fifteen minutes to be prepped and sprayed. You will need at least five minutes of setting powder application and drying time after your spray tanning session.

With the Luxe tan you must shower (rinse without soap) sometime between 1-4 hours of your tanning session. 1 hour is a light glow, 2 hours is light, 3 hours is medium and 4 hours is a dark golden tan. After you shower rinse off you are able to work out and swim and play with zero worry of messing up the development.

Soap neutralizes the development of DHA. We strongly recommend just a warm water rinse so that your tan is able to obtain the full color. You may use a limited amount of soap if you sleep in your tan. The bronzer will be super stuck to your skin and a longer shower with soap is usually needed to get it all off.

Yes! The spray tan solution will not harm tattoos. It is recommended to wait 2 weeks to spray tan, after you get a fresh tattoo so that the skin is fully healed.

This depends on several factors including your skin type, skin cycle, lifestyle and care. It should last for a minimum of 8 days and has the potential to last 14 days! Moisturize all over daily to keep your skin hydrated. Also, try to avoid activities that speed up your skin’s natural exfoliation process such as long showers, baths, hot tubs, heavy sweating and swimming in saltwater or chlorine. This will increase your cellular turnover making your tan fade sooner. To increase the longevity of your tan apply a tan extending moisturizer once a day.

This is due to several reasons. First, facial skin is thinner than skin found on other parts of the body. The face is also more exposed to the environment and endures more frequent washing. No, it does not. You will need to wear an SPF. We carry spray tan and reef safe SPF. Ask us about it at your next appointment.

The active ingredient in airbrush tanning solution is DHA (dihydroxyacetone). The DHA reacts with the amino acids on the surface cells of the skin resulting in a tanning effect. Therefore, as your skin goes through its natural exfoliation process, these skin cells shed and not every cell sheds at the same rate. You may have some tanned cells that remain or last longer than others. This has no correlation to the spray technique or solution. The tan typically lasts 8 days and then begins to fade as the top layer of skin cells naturally shed.

Keep in mind that this process tends to be a bit more noticeable when you choose a shade that is significantly darker than your natural skin color. Keeping your skin hydrated with moisturizer and drinking lots of water will help to minimize this. 

After the two week mark, we recommend using a tan remover to rid yourself of any excess tan. This (plus exfoliating) will get your skin prepped and ready for your next spray session.

Dry skin may cause the tan to fade unevenly. If you have dry skin, we recommend that you moisturize twice a day for a week leading up to your tanning session, and that you continue to moisturize each day post tanning session. We do suggest applying barrier crème to extremely dry areas on your skin before your session. Age spots will also grab the tan, so they should be pretreated too, to prevent those areas from absorbing more color.

Yes! It is completely safe to have a spray tan session if you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding. We use organic and safe solutions with zero artificial dyes or anything toxic. We spray lots of pregnant and breastfeeding mamas!!!
